Still on the topic of circles.

Just to put circle practice into effect. Need to work out a way to get the curves symmetrical. It’s almost there but not quite.

Things to consider:

• I measured the proportions but lost track of them and ended up leaving the page.
• The angles of circles is tricky. The top part of the grinder is at the wrong angle.
• Perhaps I should try finishing these drawings off properly with clean lines. I want to keep the sketches brief, though.

An attempt to see where I went wrong. These lines would have been useful throughout the drawing. Even with the guides, the circles are tricky. Need some practice.

Struggling with the circles.

I drew circles on a copy of yesterday’s sketch to see if the curves on the candlestick were correct.

Then I started a new project – drawing a coffee grinder, which is a horrible combination of circles and squares.

I need to keep thinking of 3D circles for each circle – imagine it was a transparent cylinder with lines round. Also keep them symmetrical. And keep the pencil sharp!
